If the human inner ear is severely damaged, today a so-called cochlea-implant is recommended.
A Cochlea-Implant represents an electronic inner ear prosthesis and converts acoustic signals into electronic signals. Implantation represents a risky intervention with a high risk potential.
Implantation is a risky intervention with a high risk potential. However, due to the low occurence of corpse preparations of the inner ear structures, the exercise options of the surgeon are severely limited.
